Things to do in Port Andratx

The town of Andratx can be found south of the Tramuntana mountain range and just a short 30 minute drive from the Capital City, Palma. Andratx is a very traditional, quiet town with beautiful surrounding scenery of orange and almond groves.

Port Andratx is a short 10 minutes drive away and here you will find some of the finest cafes, restaurants and bars on the island. Known for being a working fishing port, there is also a market held daily where it is possible to purchase freshly caught fish. It is also an area where there is a lot going on....

Marina

The main central hub of activity in Port Andratx lies with the Marina. Take a leisurely stroll along the front and gaze at the luxury yachts, relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The marina offers a range of facilities and services for boat owners and visitors. You can find well-equipped moorings and berths, along with amenities such as water and electricity hook ups. Additionally, the marina provides essential services like fueling, waste disposal, and maintenance support. The marina is home to several yacht clubs, including the Club de Vela Puerto de Andratx and the Real Club Náutico de Palma de Mallorca. Watersports

Clear Mediterranean waters make Port Andratx an ideal location to sample water sports. On offer here are activities such as Paddle boarding, Sailing and Kayaking. There are local hire shops throughout the Port. Prices start from about 50€ for paddleboard hire. Boat trips are a fantastic way to see the local areas, excursions to nearby coves and hidden beaches. There are guided tours available and some have opportunities for snorkelling.

Shopping

There are a wide variety of shops, boutiques and markets in the Port. Clothing shops including Adenauer, K&K art and decor interiors shop, Veri 5 aromas, there is also an organic supermarket called Veritas. There is a good size Eroski for all your groceries. Don't forget the weekly local market in Andratx, this is Wednesdays 8am - 1pm.

Hiking

This is a very popular activity in Port Andratx thanks to the Tramuntana Mountains being close by. There are numerous hike routes available including the GR221, a long distance trail (140km) offering scenic routes and breath taking views.

Culture

Port d'Andratx has a thriving artistic community, and you can explore various art galleries and studios in the town. Golf

Golf de Andratx is an 18 hole golf course with beautiful views. The signature 6th hole is known as the "longest hole in Spain" clocking in 609 metres from the back tees. Golf de Andratx also plays hosts to different tournaments throughout the year. It also offers a driving range with 21 tees the fee for this is 10€ per adult and 5€ per child per day. Gran Folies Beach Club

Overlooking the sea of Cala Llamp Bay, Gran Folies is an exclusive and oldest of the Beach Clubs in Mallorca. With plenty to offer spending the day here is perfect relaxation. There are hammocks to unwind in, a restaurant to feast in, Chef Alex Arqueres offers Spanish plates with a wide selections of dishes. There is also a beach menu which has culinary delights such as Oysters and Seabass. They also offer special events and occasions. In the morning they have Yoga, a fantastic way to start the day. Fishing

Port Andratx is re-knowned for its fishing market and sells the catches of the day in its daily market but you have to get up early!! Fishing has to be part of this Blog!!
