With the Island now winding down from the Festive holiday, there are a couple of events/festivals that take place in February.
In late January and early February the pretty almond blossoms are marked by the annual Fira de la Flor d'Ametler ( Almond Blossom Fair ) held in the pretty town in the North West of the Island, Son Servera. There are plenty of stalls offering almonds, art, candles and more.
Sa Rua ( Mallorcas Carnival ) Is a vibrant processtion and floats which line the streets of Palma every year at the start of lent. With parties and parades happening all over the Island this is one of Mallorca's biggest celebrations. The streets are adorned with people in fancy dress celebrating all things Carnival! Sa Rueta is the children's event and Sa Rua is the adults event. Sa Rueta normally takes place on a Sunday Moring between 10.30-1.30 with the main event of Sa Rua starting at 17.00. There are prizes for the best costumes and both processions will march down La Rambla, c. de La Riera, c. de la Unió, pl. del Rei Joan Carles I & av. de Jaume III.
